Let’s face it, you do B U S I N E S S on social media, you can’t just delete your accounts. TRUE, I agree with that, and as with anything toxic (car fumes, pesticide residue on food, your siblings…kidding) there ARE things that you can do. But what????

I weaned myself off media a long long time ago and it really did change the way I showed up in the world and had a massive impact on my business. I used to consume media of all kinds because I bought into the theory that I “needed to be aware of what was happening in the world”.
I was aware of what was happening in the world alright, and I was:
It took all my effort to drag myself through a business day, do the things on my to do list, and race home to numb out, distract myself in any way possible (more work, more tv) so I didn’t have to hear the thoughts, the anxiety, the fear messages that my brain was pumping out faster than concrete from a contractors truck at 3pm on a Friday.
I was at breaking point – I can’t remember now why I even decided to cut out media other than I was somehow loosely aware of the link between the media and my overwhelm, but the results were astounding. I see the same thing happening with social media today.
I have taught my kids to consume media in the safe way that I do, I still get the benefits, ie social contact and business reach, and so do they – but we don’t get all of the negative impacts that comes with consuming media in a way that has become the norm.
I am going to show you the exact way that I protect my energy and stay in full alignment while still using social media alongside other marketing avenues that feel much more aligned for me.
